Written & Physical Ability Tests

Firefighting requires a high level of strength, endurance, and overall physical readiness. Because of this, applicants are encouraged to begin conditioning well before entering the hiring process. Final Review & Employment

Human Resources and Fire Leadership will review test scores and interview results. A certification list will be created, those with the highest scores will be offered employment.

Recruit Academy

Once chosen, applicants will undergo a 20-week Academy. The program consists of two weeks (80 hours) of EMR training and 18 weeks of firefighting training.
